4CH - Competence Center for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage is a project funded by the European Commission within H2020 programme.

Coordinated by the National Institute of Nuclear Physic 4CH, began on 1 January 2021 and will end on 31 December 2023.

The 4CH project will design and prepare for a European Competence Centre (CC) on the Conservation of Cultural Heritage which will work proactively for the preservation and conservation of cultural heritage (CH). The project intends to create a methodological, procedural and organizational reference framework for the CC, working with a network of national, regional and local cultural institutions.

The network will be provided with advice, support and services focused on the conservation and protection of historical sites and monuments, through the use of ICT tools and with particular attention to 3D technology. 4CH will design and implement the ICT infrastructure of the CC, based on a Cultural Heritage Cloud, compliant with the EOSC vision, to provide an open collaborative digital space for cultural heritage conservation giving access to repositories of data, metadata, standards and guidelines. The project will promote actions aimed at substantially increasing the number and quality of digitized sites, documents and monuments.
