Europeana Archaeology
The Central Institute for the Union Catalogue of Italian Libraries and Bibliographic Information is a partner of Europeana Archaeology.
Europeana Archaeology is an European project co-funded under the CEF Program, lasting 18 months (February 2019 - July 2020) and coordinated by the University of Vilnius, Faculty of Communication. The consortium is composed by 16 partners.
The main objectives of this Europeana ecosystem project are:
- to make available new high quality digital content related to the rich European heritage (archaeological monuments, historic buildings, cultural landscapes and artefacts)
- to increase the quality of existing content, enriching the metadata to facilitate user research
- to make this content accessible through Europeana, in particular through the channel dedicated to archaeology
- to facilitate the re-use of resources also thanks to the adoption of open licenses
- to carry out a wide communication campaign through the publication of a virtual exhibition, blogs, photo galleries on Europeana.
