UNI / DIAM technical commission
Within the framework of the Unification Italian National Agency (UNI - Ente Nazionale Italiano di Unificazione), the DIAM Commission is in charge of promoting standardization in the fields of documentation, automatic and multimedia information. This Commission is organized into sub-commissions (SC) and working groups (GL), which the Institute collaborates to as coordinator and member:
- TC46 - SC4. Automation and documentation. The sub-commission carries out activities related to the standardization of protocols, schemes and metadata models for processes used by information management institutions (libraries, archives, museums, publishers and other content producers).
- GL2. Country name codes. Rules have been introduced related to UNI EN ISO 3166-1 country name codes and UNI ISO 639-2 language codes. ISIL (International Standard Identifier for Libraries and Related Organizations) codes have been translated.
- GL6. Cinematographic works. Within this group the UNI EN 15744:2009 standard on Film Identification– Minimum set of metadata for cinematographic works was translated. At present, the prEN 15907 standard Film identification – improving interoperability of metadata – Element sets and structures is currently being analysed.
