Working group on evolution and development of the National Library Service (SBN)

The Group, established on November 11th, 2015  through Managerial Decree, aims at carrying out study activities in order to reorganize and develop the National Library Service within the thematic areas concerning cooperation management, enhancement of servicers to users and evolution of methodologies and technologies, paying particular attention to:
  • enlarging both cooperation conditions and the participation to the Service;
  • adapting and enriching the SBN database in the light of the new developments of methodologies, technologies and standards for the management of bibliographic data, and within the frame of the evolution of information services available online;
  • integrating services offered to users, both relating to bibliographic information and access to digital heritage;
  • connecting to national and international projects, within a frame of interoperability and accessibility to cultural heritage on the Web.
